Dreamy Spring Flowers May 25, 2026
I’ve recently got ahold of an old Olympus 55mm f1.2 lens for the original OM system. The lens is quite nice, if a bit dreamy on wider apertures used with it’s original system, on film and shooting available light portraits using fairly even backgrounds. Paired with a modern sensor and more mixed backgrounds it’s… quite another thing! But I find myself really liking the dreamy, super shallow, depth of field and the quirky background blur it produces, at least for close-ups.
As spring slowly turns into summer in central europe I’ve been shooting some flowers with it while out walking. Here you can find my favourite shots from that series!
