I still do not own a macro lens. I sometimes use one of my old lenses (most of which I got from the flea market) held in reverse in front of my camera. This works surprisingly well, but focusing is kind of hard (just wiggle forward and back). Just be careful and try not to get too much dust inside the camera :P.
This image was shot in this way, I’ts a water plant currently living on my window sill.
